“...men always ought to pray and not lose heart.” (Luke 18 v 1)
Keep praying:
praising
thanking
adoring
admiring
essentially
but also
self-assessing
repenting
sorrowing
being contrite.
For only then
Can we be pleading.
“Beloved, I pray that you may prosper in all things and be in health, just as your soul prospers.” (John 3 v 2)
Asking
supplicating
petitioning
interceding.
Returning to
Praying to
express love
and appreciation,
for our calling
to be
co-workers with
Christ Jesus,
Spreading the gospel
with undying love.
“ ‘Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptising them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit...’” (Matthew 28 v 19)
“ ‘...teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age’.” (Matthew 28 v 20)
Lord, there is so much about which I need to talk with You and want to talk with You, I must ask You to help me to pray appropriately.
I find the first thing in the day prayer time amidst stillness and silence, straightforward and really beneficial, thank You.
But later in the day when I am busy, often only about the mundane, then I simply forget to pray, so have no real awareness of You. I am so sorry.
Please help me to do better than this. I would like to build up more of a daily prayer schedule that I can adhere to without failing, as Lord Jesus, Your friendship is invaluable to me.
You are the life source of all who believe in You as Saviour, the highest blessed gift of God, our Father, whom we must thank, calling on the Spirit of prayer.
You are our Divine Healer, but repentance is a pre-requisite to this graced endeavour, praying intently, in sincere honesty however painful this may be as we fall short of the glory of God.
Only by prayer can we access the power of holy love, which knows no boundaries. Ever let us offer all thanks in Your name, the name well above all names.
We call on Your all powerful, ever beautiful name as Saviour Restorer and find doubt, fear and many an anxiety replaced by a sense of calm, a certain peace and a sure hope. Thank You for showing this merciful side
of our Father to us.
May prayer in whatever form we choose, set us more fully alive in You, being infused by the power of holy love to go out and about in Your service, our determination strengthened.
I ask that as we pray, all who believe in You, Lord Jesus, receive the living water of the Holy Spirit, cleansing and refreshing us, then empowering us to evangelise.
Thank You that the Holy spirit fills us with Your love and the Father’s love for us, that with joy in our heart we can approach others. So much results from prayer!
May our faithful commitment to prayer enable us to speak eloquently and convincingly of You, our life given over to loving, honouring and pleasing our Father, through You.
How wonderful it is to know that “The hand of our God is over all who seek Him for their protection...” (Ezra 9 v 8) Prayer has so many reasons for us to be praying!
Of all the many reasons for prayer, to repent and believe the good news of our salvation, two main prayer pointers of significance, these together with sheer joy, must lead us to prayers of adoration, admiration and
gratitude.
For whenever we pray, we enter the sacred heart of love shown us by the Holy Trinity. What riches await us to gift us Your hope, Your peace and Your joy, thank You. Amen.
